What We Discovered

Key Findings

86% of children had a decrease in their anxiety and depression scores after using Stix, it also helped them improve their mood.

6 in 7 children said Stix had helped them with their relationships when angry or upset

100% of children wanted to continue the study at home after it had ended. Children really valued the independence provided by the Stix Remotes, without needing input from teachers or parents.

Every child taking part said that the Stix activities taught them skills that they used in their daily lives, for example, learning to take a step back and breathe when they are feeling angry.
What We Discovered

Study Summary

The study involved eight children between the ages of 9-10, seven girls, and one boy.

As part of the 4-week Mindfulness Skills programme, children practiced 3 activities each day, with the activities changing to each week. The children were interviewed about their experience with the Stix on a weekly basis and then on completion.

Overall, the Stix Remotes and the activities were very well received by the children, and the results suggest an improvement in psychological wellbeing. However, due to the small sample size in this pilot study, a more detailed study, including a matched control group/training, is recommended before making any conclusions about how Stix technology helps children’s mental health and wellbeing.

Real Stories, Real Impact

Case Studies

A specialist told us to do 10 minutes of mindfulness a day, and Stix has enabled Bella to do just that. They've helped her so much with her anxiety. You really can't put a price on supporting mental health so this was a worthy investment.

Ruth

Using Stix with my Year 1 and 2 students, including those with special needs, has been an absolute game-changer. It's not just a tool; it's a lifeline for busy teachers and stressed-out students alike. Highly recommended for any primary classroom!"

Francesca

We love our Stix!

They offer a really good intro into to mindfulness concepts at a young age, for our daughter who is deeply feeling.

Physically nice product

Physically nice product, good activities, calming voice.
Limited activities (not yet had the upgrade?). We are screen free and without the app the Stix give you the activity automatically and once you start one you have to complete for another. Would benefit from ability to move on or choose activities from the Stix (without the need for the app). My son will not use without adult support (age 6).

Great for bedtime

My 5 year old finds the Stix a nice way of calming down at bedtime and enjoys spending his stars on new items for his character. It is great to have more activities to try, keeps him engaged. We are enjoying the Calming Down and Sleep activities at the moment.

He often gives me one Stix so we can do the activities together, which is a nice way of bonding.

Great for 5 year old

We haven't be using them for that long but my 5 yr old is loving them. He has suspected ADHD and really struggling with frustration in particular. They are great for teaching mindfulness and regulation of big feelings. He also loves them at bedtime, really help to switch his brain off.

I am planning for him to take them into school and the teachers are really kean to see how they work and have even said they might look to get a set for the classroom 👍

If you are not sure, I would say go for it!
